Bed Bugs Removal
Fox Valley Environmental Pest Control - Certified and Experienced
BedBugs are incorrectly named, which causes them to be underestimated, leading to insufficient treatment of many potential nesting sites which may be 20 feet or more from the bed in a bedroom. Bedbugs may even be in other rooms, for example in the living room sofa. But don’t throw out the bed or the sofa, because they can also be in any of a thousand other places, such as wall switches and outlets, curtain rods, behinds photos on the wall, under rugs, and the list goes on and on.
Why did they invade my house? Bedbugs were probably brought into the home on clothing or in luggage, from another location that has an infestation of them.
How do I know that they are bedbugs? Bedbugs move very slowley and cannot run away. If you believe you feel them simply look at the bedding. If they are there they will be easy to see. Over time, Bedbugs also leave blood stains on the sheets and pillow cases that are sometimes ¼ to ½ inch in diameter.
Are BedBugs dangerous?
No known diseases have been proven to be transmitted by bedbugs at this time. However, Bed bugs cause a variety of negative physical health, mental health and economic consequences. Including severe allergic reaction, secondary infections such as impetigo, ecthyma, and lymphanigitis. Bed bugs may also affect the mental health of people living in infested homes, including anxiety, insomnia, and delusional parasitosis.
How do I control bedbugs? First... Don’t throw anything out, move anything out of the room, or box anything up. I.e. If you know what room the problem is, then keep it in that room.Clothing and bedding should be moved directly to the laundry area in plastic tubs (without holes), or plastic bags, and washed immediately. In fact, simply placing dry fabrics into the dryer on a high heat for 30 minutes will kill bedbugs and their eggs. Very few over the counter pesticides are effective helping a homeowner significantly reduce a bedbug infestation, and less than 100% control is unacceptable. Having said that, steam, diatomaceous earth, bedbug proof mattress covers, and 95% rubbing alcohol are all excellent tools in the fight to reduce the population of bedbugs, until you can get help from a professional.
